“Free Games” part two. TES IV: Oblivion

Eh, I haven’t written anything for a long time, it’s time to start. So, okay, I will continue the topic about free games. And then, I scored something on this topic … I’ll tell you about TES IV: Oblivion. Yes, yes, I know the game came out, the devil knows when, he doesn’t roll the graphics, physics shit and all that. But still, this game deserves our attention. Want to know why? Please.

Yes, because take at least the game world: no restrictions, go wherever you want, do what you want, no one pulls on the tail, huge territories. In general, freedom. Now in more detail:

Well, I’ll probably start with the good: as it was written above, the game does not have absolute freedom.
We can do absolutely everything that we want. The playground is simply enormous, the developers have provided enough expanses for the development of their character. How nice it is to just travel around the huge and beautiful world Oblivion, just enjoying the landscapes. Run through the forests, through the fields, mountains, swamps. In the development and creation of characters, no one limits us either. We can choose one of several races: orcs, elves, people, reptiles and others. (Moreover, you can download new races from the Internet, but more on that)
So, after we chose a race for our character, he needs to configure his face. And here of course not everything is so smooth, there are plenty of sliders to configure appearance here, yes. But whatever one may and do not turn any freaks come out anyway. Although this is already the most part. So, so we chose and set up a character for ourselves, now he should choose the class. And in terms of classes, Oblivion “devotes” even the most modern RPGs. And all simply because the game has 28 different classes, plus there is an opportunity to create your own class. Of course, many classes are various variations of the three main classes, but still. There are many skills in the game and therefore nothing prevents us from creating a thief-magician or a rath warrior for ourselves. In addition, during the game we do not limit ourselves to skills of the class we have chosen. No, we can use and pump any skill in the game. As for the pumping of the pumping into Oblivion, it happens in this way: you download the main skills and after 10 pumping your level increases. Moreover, you swing skulls in such an interesting way: in order to develop the skill of the battle, you need to practice a lot in battle if you want to increase the speed of your character – take a run more often. And everything is like that. That is, there is no standard experience scale and you don’t need to stupidly walk and beat mobs in order to go to the next level. In Oblivion, you can earn 20 levets without killing anyone at all.

Well, we have already created the characters chose him a class and began to download him. But not all the time we run on the map and stupidly rock. No, the game has a lot of diverse and interesting quests. And many of them are even an order of magnitude higher than the main plot (the plot in the game is so banal and stupid that I will not even mention it). The plots of quests here are diverse and interesting, from simple custom -made murders to meet with columns at one in the morning in the field with corn 🙂 This is not Gothic, no, there are no such monotonous quests: go and kill 20 wolves and bring their skins. No, everything is serious here and the brush of quests in the game in the first place. There are also many different interesting items, buns and cookies in Oblivion. A bunch of weapons, armor, spells, scrolls, some stones and a whole car and a small cart of all kinds of goodies that can be collected and very profitable to sell, or find yourself a better equipment, and the old one is put into utility.
But you can collect a huge collection of different objects. Now you have a little idea of what you can do in the game and I would like to tell you about what, what extended the life of this game for several years. Of course these are additions, Bethesda took care of her brainchild and tried to extend his life. And therefore, she (Bethesda) released a special, at those days, a rather powerful game editor, which allowed to create anything, whether the hands would have grown from that place. Those who have not played so far in Oblivion can not even imagine how many fan additions and modifications for it were made. You can talk about fan additions for a very long time and tedious so ..

… let’s move on to the minuses of the game.

Well, of course, not all games are perfect and Obvyon is no exception. Perhaps one of the vast disads of the game is that today Oblivion is very outdated in terms of technology. He does not have such a graphics as in Dragon Age, there is no stunning physics. But still, the old man Oblivion can still please our eyes with wonderful landscapes and other views.
The disadvantages of the game also include the balance of power. In general, the balance of the Obvyon is very controversial. Now I will explain why. It’s just that when you pump your character, your enemies also pump, but to a certain level, after the enemies are replaced by stronger “colleagues”, but for you this does not play any role. That is, after, for example, the 8th level, enemies such as: rats, demons, scams and the bears of bears begin to appear and t.D. And what from that? By strength, all enemies are always tantamount to your character. Well, maybe strong individuals will come across, but not as often as we would like. On the one hand, you can calmly wander around the world and be confident in your abilities. And on the other hand, such a balance makes the character of the character meaningless and completely unnecessary. And why? If all enemies of the same strength are the same with you … only if you swing, then only for the sake of new and more powerful things. Although on the Internet you can find a bunch of mods changing the balance of the game. Well, there are still a couple of minor disadvantages, but they are not so noticeable and important. Such insignificant disadvantages include for example the possibility of switching the camera to a type of 3rd person. In the form of the 3rd person, the developers somehow installed the camera on the camer that fighting on swords, fists, shooting on onions or throwing fireballs, somehow uncomfortable and, besides irritation and hatred, no longer causes any feelings.

In general, Oblivion is one of the best games in the RPG genre. And if you want to spend many evenings in a pleasant and unforgettable atmosphere of adventure, then this game is just for you! Let Oblivion have a little obsolete graphics and physicist, the old man Oblivion is still able to delight his eyes with luggage landscapes, albeit a slightly crooked balance and a weak plot. But still in this game there is an indispensable sense of freedom, the one that many games lack.
